Paul's Bucket List Snowdon Adventure

Paul one of my old mates and work collegue from back in the day had a Snowdon Summit climb on his to do list and we made plans some time ago to go up on September 23rd, he promised me he had been training - He lied! nine holes of golf does not count!

Taking the Rhyd Ddu path we started off and there was a bit of puffing and sucking in air whilst we were still on the road, I realised then we were in for an extended day on the hill :).

Weather was cloudy to start but with a promise to clear by 1pm but only for a couple of hours, and then the heavens would open, which is exactly what happened!

As we climbed and creeped our way to the summit we were buffeted with really strong winds but, we got there just as a train was pulling into the summit station so I suggested to Paul that we neede to get to the top before the train passengers, he didnt beleive me and I laughed as they all coasted past him on the steps towards the summit cairn, we chuckled about that.

It was great to get inside out of the weather for refreshments and bang on time the clouds lifted and the views came, does not matter how many times I see them, they are stunning!

Off we headed down, slow at first and then more slowly as Paul's legs decided they had done enough for the day, buy hey there was no giving up even as the rain lashed down and we finally touched base some seven and a half hours of hard graft later, but it was still a fantastic day out and a great achievement from Paul, not sure whether he will venture out again with the |Snowdonia Walker though
