New Venture

Had a call from Mike Raine to see if I would be interested in co hosting some days on Snowdon for qualified Mountain Leaders, this is a great opportunity for me to work alongside Mike and also be able to impart some of my knowledge to those coming out with us.

The first session Jan 24th sold out in a day and we are now looking at putting another couple on during the season, no pressure!!

Oh no! Not Snowdon again…

Join Mike Raine and Keith Hulse for this Nature of Snowdonia Special Snowdon Workshop. Open only to qualified Mountain Leaders. Mike will take you through the nature of the mountain, the geology, the glaciation, plant and birdlife. We’ll talk about the history of farming, mining and tourism on the mountain. Keith will regale you of lessons learnt working as a full time guide and volunteer ranger on Snowdon, Yr Wyddfa.

You’ll receive a PDF of all the information shared on the day to help you with future work on the mountain. We’ll meet at Pencaunant Isaf (Snowdon Cafe) A good brew and bacon butty stop with great hospitality). We’ll wander up the Llanberis Path. We’ll gaze over at the complex geological jigsaw of Clogwyn du’r Arddu.

This day will set you up with a lifetime of ideas for guiding on Yr Wyddfa, it’ll kick start your fund of stories, improve your knowledge and open your eyes to aspects of the mountain you never knew existed.

You’ll need to bring a packed lunch (we won’t linger at the summit café) and be prepared for a full day on the mountain. Our journey will take us up the Llanberis Path, down the Miners Path and we’ll get the bus back to Llanberis from Pen y Pass

As this is a new workshop, and we are running it out of season. We will be offering a full refund in the event to of full winter conditions. By full winter conditions we mean ice-axe, crampons and goggles needed. If the top of the PyG track is the only bit of 'winter' we'll return by the Llanberis Path. We're keen to make it happen. We'll run the workshop again in spring, summer and autumn.

Lets hope the weather holds

Keith
